Southern Plains Tribal Health Board
Grant Summary
The American Indian Health Fund (AIHF) was formed to address specific health concerns of the Native American Indian population. American Indians are disproportionately affected by long-term health challenges that, in many cases, can be prevented. Data shows we can improve the health of American Indians, but more resources are critically needed. The partnership of five nonprofits was facilitated through Community Health Charities and addresses issues including: diabetes management and prevention and related outcomes such as limb loss, mental illness and suicide prevention, and development of healthy lifestyles through education and awareness for prevention.
