Telligen Community Initiative has a commitment to the health of our communities. We want to fund programs and nonprofits that address social drivers of health. Our primary method of delivering support is through our 2025 Strengthening Families and Communities RFP. The link is to the right and highlights our specific and desired funding interests.
New in 2025 is an expression of our understanding of the need for more predicable and longer term funding support as we move our funding to two-year grant periods. This represents an exciting evolution and step our governance is proud to offer.
Proposals can seek support of up to $150,000 spread over these two-year grant period. This represents an increase in both dose and duration of TCI support to allow grant recipients greater ability to achieve sustained impact.
In 2025, we are also introducing a capacity building mechanism of funding support called The Capacity Investment. We are piloting this effort with the belief that a different type of support is needed – beyond our traditional project/program-based support – to allow grantees to build their organizational strength and capacity.
This funding will function with an abbreviated application, an open/rolling grant deadline that will be reviewed every two months until the funding is exhausted. At this time, this new funding stream is only open by invitation by TCI.
We are viewing this as a learning period to figure out how to best deploy this in our funding future more broadly. In addition to multi-year funding and Synergy Center support – TCI is excited to create another avenue for advancing nonprofit organizational effectiveness in an exciting way. TCI staff is happy to discuss this opportunity with those interested in learning more about its focus and potential future application.

We know many of you have already reviewed our application guidance and you are ready to dive in on your grant application to us for consideration. Here is a link to our application portal. We are utilizing Foundant as our grant management partner beginning in 2024 for ease of application development and reporting requirements of active grantees.
ApplyThe Telligen Community Initiative Synergy Center is a 6,800-square-foot, multi-tenant, collaborative office project. The Synergy Center brings together health-focused, nonprofit organizations sharing a modern office space and resources funded by Telligen Community Initiative.
This Central Iowa-based facility supports eight nonprofits that advance social determinants of health in a myriad of creative and effective ways. We have subsequently funded similar work in other TCI states over time that mirrors this investment to support capacity building of multiple health nonprofit collaborators in ways other than traditional project support funding.
